PetSmart Store Refresh Program

Project Overview

RJB Contracting was selected to support PetSmart’s 2025 Store Refresh initiative, completing overnight renovations across stores nationwide. Our work focused on high-traffic areas requiring minimal disruption to operations, with each store refreshed in a five-night turnaround.

Key Scope Areas

• Fish System Demo & Reconstruction
  Removal and reconstruction of fish system zones, including electrical, plumbing, wall panels, and new flooring (VCT or Portico).

• Check Stand Replacements
  Demolition and installation of new check stands in 76 stores, including electrical disconnect/reconnect, register endcap builds, tile spot-repair, and floor waxing.

• Restroom Upgrades
  Variable scope per location: partition, toilet, sink, mirror, FRP replacement, paint, flooring polish, and wall repair.

• Associate Lounge Improvements
  Installation of new R/O water filtration systems and millwork replacements in select locations.

• Additional Tasks
  Lighting upgrades, decor installation, equipment relocation, and coordination with PetSmart’s overnight leadership for access and validation.

Logistics & Coordination

• Crews remained consistent across routes to maintain efficiency and reduce ramp-up time.

• Work was executed per strict overnight timelines, with daily reporting and photo validation through PetSmart’s digital system.

Outcome

The project showcased RJB’s ability to mobilize certified crews, coordinate logistics across multiple regions, and deliver high-quality results within tight overnight windows, enhancing the in-store experience for PetSmart’s customers and associates.
