Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure is the future of US travel, and the EV charging station network is the core component of this network. With an estimated 1.2 million public charging stations needed by 2030, the current 140,000 in operations is just a fraction. We’re very proud to partner with Tesla, the nation’s largest EV station supplier, to install them throughout the Northeast. The newest V3 Tesla charging stations significantly increase power output, reducing charging times considerably. The reduced wait times are one step closer to instant electrification and wide-scale adaptation.
These 8-week projects include everything from the utility transformer to the charge post. Site work begins with excavating the utility trenches required to run wire and pour footings for power cabinets and posts. The forms are created, then intricate templates are laid that guide our electricians through the wire runs ensuring they will connect in the proper location to the equipment. Once large PVC insulators are laid in the correct location the concrete is poured and curbs are formed. Next, the holes are backfilled and about 4 miles of wire is run. Power cabinets and charging posts are set and connected. Paving, marking, signage, and some other finish details and we’ll be ready for electrification. We are excited to continue to learn these innovative systems and be at the forefront of the next generation of American interstate infrastructure.
